Microneedling in Ashford, Surrey
Microneedling — also known as Collagen Induction Therapy — is a clinically proven Skin Treatment that uses fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin's surface. This process stimulates the skin's natural repair response, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin to help improve skin texture, tone, and firmness over time.
As a Level 4 Qualified Skin Specialist with over 10 years' experience, I tailor every treatment to the individual — adjusting needle depth precisely for each area of the face to ensure both safety and results.
Please note: Microneedling is currently available as a Mobile Treatment only. It is not currently offered at the clinic. I bring a full professional setup directly to you across Ashford, Surrey and London.
What Microneedling Can Help With
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Loss of firmness and skin laxity
- Uneven skin texture and enlarged pores
- Acne scarring and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
- Dull, tired-looking skin
- Stretch marks (body)
What the Treatment Includes
Consultation & Skin Analysis
Every Microneedling appointment begins with a thorough consultation and skin analysis to assess your skin condition, concerns, and suitability for treatment. Contraindications are reviewed and a bespoke treatment plan is confirmed before any treatment proceeds.
Double Cleanse
A thorough Double Cleanse using GENOSYS Snow O2 Cleanser removes all surface impurities, makeup, SPF, and product residue — ensuring the skin is completely clean before any active treatment begins. This step is essential for both hygiene and treatment efficacy.
Exfoliation
An appropriate Exfoliation step is performed to remove dead skin cells and prepare the skin's surface, allowing the microneedles to glide smoothly and the active serums applied during treatment to penetrate effectively.
Extractions (Where Necessary)
Where congestion or blocked pores are present and it is appropriate to do so, gentle Extractions may be performed prior to Microneedling. This ensures the skin is clear before the treatment begins and reduces the risk of spreading bacteria during the needling process.
Microneedling
Needle depth is carefully adjusted for each area of the face — shallower depths are used around delicate areas such as the eye contour, while deeper settings are applied to areas such as the cheeks and forehead where the skin is thicker and can tolerate more active treatment. GENOSYS professional serum ampoules, specifically designed for Microneedling, are applied to the skin throughout the treatment, allowing active ingredients to be driven deeper into the skin via the micro-channels created.
Post Repair Cream & Finishing Products
Following Microneedling, GENOSYS Post Repair Cream is applied to calm, protect, and support the skin's immediate recovery — an essential step in the Autumn Harmony protocol. Additional finishing products are applied as appropriate based on your skin's response on the day, and may include SPF.
Treatment time is approximately 90 minutes.

Who Is Microneedling Suitable For?
Microneedling is suitable for most skin types and tones. It is particularly well suited to those looking to address:
- Early to moderate signs of ageing — fine lines, loss of firmness, and dullness
- Acne scarring or post-breakout marks
- Uneven skin texture or enlarged pores
- Skin that has plateaued with topical skincare alone
A thorough consultation is carried out before every treatment to confirm suitability. Microneedling is not suitable for those who:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have active acne, open wounds, or active skin infections in the treatment area
- Have a history of keloid scarring
- Are taking blood-thinning medication or have a bleeding disorder
- Have had recent cosmetic procedures in the treatment area (please discuss at consultation)
- Have certain autoimmune conditions or are undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy
This list is not exhaustive. A full medical and skin history is taken at consultation to ensure Microneedling is safe and appropriate for you.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Results from Microneedling are cumulative — the skin continues to produce collagen for several weeks after each session. For most clients, a course of 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart delivers the most significant and lasting improvement. A single session can produce a visible improvement in skin radiance and texture, but a course is recommended for addressing more established concerns such as scarring or significant skin laxity.
After completing a course, maintenance sessions every 3–6 months are typically recommended to sustain results.
Aftercare
The skin will appear red and feel warm immediately after Microneedling — similar in appearance to mild sunburn. This is a normal response and typically settles within 24–48 hours. Some clients experience mild peeling or dryness in the days following treatment as the skin renews.
GENOSYS Post Repair Cream is applied at the end of every session as part of the treatment protocol to support the skin's immediate recovery. You will be advised on how to continue supporting the skin at home in the days following your appointment.
To support your skin after Microneedling:
- Avoid touching the face unnecessarily for the first 24 hours
- Do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours post-treatment
- Avoid active skincare ingredients (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C) for at least 5 days
- Keep the skin clean, calm, and well hydrated
- Apply a broad-spectrum SPF50 daily — sun protection is essential post-Microneedling
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and intense exercise for 48 hours
- Avoid swimming pools or open water for 4 days
FAQs About Microneedling
Is Microneedling painful?
Most clients experience mild discomfort during treatment — often described as a scratching or prickling sensation. Needle depth is adjusted throughout to ensure your comfort, and the sensation typically reduces as the skin becomes accustomed to the treatment.
How long does redness last after Microneedling?
Redness and warmth are normal immediately after treatment and typically settle within 24–48 hours. Some clients experience mild peeling or dryness in the days following as the skin renews.
Can I wear makeup after Microneedling?
It is best to avoid makeup for at least 24 hours post-treatment to allow the skin to recover. A tinted SPF is a good alternative if some coverage is needed.
How soon will I see results?
Many clients notice an improvement in skin radiance and texture within 6–10 days of their first session. More significant results — particularly for scarring, pigmentation, and firmness — develop over the weeks following treatment as collagen production increases, and continue to improve with each session in a course.
